YOUR PROPERTY

Interior safety

Visible interior water is a symptom, not always the point of entry. Water can move through deck flutes, insulation and structural members before it appears below, so emergency work must look beyond the ceiling stain.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR

Leak triage

Share where water appears, when it began, recent weather, affected equipment or inventory, roof access information and any previous repair area. Roof access should be left to trained personnel.

PLANNING THE WORK

Permanent repair scope

The first objective is responsible stabilization. A permanent scope follows diagnosis, material compatibility, weather conditions and the operating constraints of the building; no universal response time is promised.

MAKE YOUR NEXT CONVERSATION COUNT

Three questions worth asking.

You do not need to know every roofing term. These questions help you understand the recommendation before agreeing to the work.

  1. What can be made safe before anyone accesses the roof?

  2. What does temporary protection include—and what still needs repair?

  3. Who will confirm the permanent repair plan after stabilization?

YOUR QUESTIONS

A few questions you may have.

What should the facility team do first during an active roof leak?+

Protect people and equipment, contain interior water only when it is safe, document where water appears, and avoid walking the roof. Then organize an urgent commercial roofing request.

Is the roof opening always directly above the interior drip?+

No. Water may travel along insulation, deck flutes or structural members before becoming visible. Diagnosis should trace the path rather than patch only above the stain.

Does temporary stabilization replace permanent repair?+

No. Temporary work manages immediate exposure. The permanent scope depends on the source, assembly, moisture, compatible materials and field conditions.
